Katie Sullivan is Cicala Wackerly Conrod’s Director of Research. She graduated with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and has worked or studied in the legal field continuously since then. For over a decade, Katie has partnered with Joanne Cicala on the prosecution of health-related claims in the public space.

In her role, Katie manages, supervises, and coordinates the work of all CWC analysts, paralegals, and legal interns as they support attorneys in case development and prosecution. Katie’s core responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all data and data mining projects with extensive knowledge in reviewing and analyzing large health care claims and pricing data sets
  • Maintaining the firm’s research repository
  • Interfacing routinely with CWC network and software experts to ensure the effective and efficient use of legal and factual materials
  • Organizing and managing vast e-discovery productions containing highly sensitive confidential information, including administrative functions of uploading and summarizing the productions
  • Managing complex case calendars
  • Monitoring legal developments, industry news, and bid opportunities to identify potential impacts on current matters and uncover new opportunities, including supervising and editing the firms monthly newsletter.

Her experience spans Tort, Contract, and Estate Law, and her core competencies have been applied in health care fraud and corporate litigation.

Prior to joining CWC, Katie worked as an undergraduate law clerk at the Law Offices of Broadus Spivey, a legal assistant at Hughes Vanderburg Williams PLLC, and a legal analyst at the Texas branch of the New York law firm Kirby McInerney, LLP, where she was an integral member of the healthcare team led by Joanne Cicala.
